Yaroslav (Yaro) Varshavskiy, an electrical engineer with over three decades of experience, founded IVY Consulting following extensive work in the field of Power Electronics.
He started his career as a Project Engineer designing and commissioning excitation systems of power generators at various power plants. Later, his professional career shifted to the field of variable speed drives. While serving as a Field Service Representative for ABB Industrial Drives and Automation Division in Canada, he was involved in servicing and commissioning drives equipment for stand-alone and system applications for major industries.
Next, he worked at a paper manufacturing company as a full-time Electrical Engineer and Drives Specialist, contributing to various aspects of the electrical field. His main responsibilities included various electrical projects, and commissioning, servicing and maintaining drives equipment at multiple mills’ locations.
On top of that, over the years, he was involved in numerous power quality studies aimed at finding proper power quality solutions to address multiple power outages caused by failures of main switching equipment at various mills’ locations. His team successfully resolved power quality issues on several utility feeders thanks to the Comsys Active Dynamic Filtering (ADF) Power Tuning system, with the support of ADM Engineering.
With long-term established experience in this field, Yaro is helping industrial and commercial customers to find their optimal power quality solutions.
