In today’s world industrial companies tend to operate faster and most cost effective while producing wide range and spectrum of their products. To achieve this flexibility the companies heavily depend on variable speed drives.
Unfortunately, these drives, i.e. power switching devices, by their nature, create high levels of harmonic disturbances and non-linear load. Harmonic disturbances, in turn, create overheating of power equipment such as transformers and mains switch-gear, thus shortening the equipment’s life. Flickers created by harmonics, in combination with conditions of mains supply can cause production downtime, often turning to be costly. Non-linear loads increase levels of reactive power affecting the power factor and causing increase of power supply costs.
To “catch” such flickers, transients, and disturbances a proper power quality equipment is a must. In our studies, we rely on the state-of-the-art G4500 power quality analyzer by Elspec Ltd. Blackbox G4500 PQ analyzer has capability to record each event, no matter its size. Its voltage sampling rate is 1,024 samples per cycle, and it can evaluate up to 512h voltage harmonics. The G4500 PQ meter measures and records 5,000 power parameters continuously at a resolution of ½ cycles, 10/12 cycles, 150/180 cycles, 10 min, and 2 hours. It can record and store all electrical waveforms continuously for more than a year, with no gaps in the data.
Utilizing this unique equipment allows us to capture the most precise power quality picture and to provide most comprehensive and accurate report.
This is what makes us different from the other suppliers of the same services.
